Memories of the anti-apartheid movement in Scotland

Scotland and Glasgow have had a key role in the anti-apartheid movement which led to the end of apartheid in South Africa. Many of those supporting this campaign for a Mandela statue in Glasgow, have had a key role in the anti-apartheid movement over many years.

We asked for your memories of the day Nelson Mandela danced in George Square and also your memories of being a part of the wider anti-apartheid movement. Click HERE for the memories from those who were there on that unforgettable day and for those who joined the struggle to end apartheid in South Africa.

Donations to the campaign can be made online at https://mandelascottishmemorial.org/donate
