Help raise funds for the memorial by buying a copy of the poster printed to announce Nelson Mandela’s visit to Glasgow in 1993 – only £10 + £3 postage and packing if posted. The poster is supplied in a tube, and is A2 size – reduced from the original.
2018 is the 25th anniversary of Nelson Mandela’s visit to Scotland in 1993 to collect the Freedoms of nine UK cities.
He told the crowd in George Square: “While we were physically denied our freedom in the country of our birth, a city 6,000 miles away, and as renowned as Glasgow, refused to accept the legitimacy of the apartheid system, and declared us to be free.”
Proceeds from the poster sales will go to the Nelson Mandela Scottish Memorial Foundation and Community HEART.
